What is it?
Tiles is a mobile app for pottery studios. A digital replacement for the test tile wall, built to handle piece tracking and studio management in one place. The prototype is currently a single-file HTML build, and right now I’m using it to test the core workflow with real users before deciding what gets built next. Below is where it stands and what’s still ahead.
Immediate: User/Target Audience Feedback
Bringing the prototype to community studios this week to collect feedback directly from studio members, instructors, and the studio owner. This is the group with the most at stake in whether Tiles actually works day-to-day, and their input will shape what gets built first in the next phase.
Next: Community Board
Designing a social feature. A board tied to each studio’s membership, so members can post and see updates only within their own studio. This is the next core build once feedback comes back.
Future: Education Section
A reference section students can pull up on their own including glaze notes, process steps, and troubleshooting for the moments an instructor isn’t around to ask. Not in scope for this build cycle, but it’s the next layer once the social feature is in place.
